Free Contemporary Classical Piano Recital Thursday, May 16 from 6-7 p.m.

Joey Morgan Harrington is a composer and pianist who has prepared a special event on Thursday evening at the Fine Arts Center. Please join us!

Joey Morgan Harrington’s original concert music consists of compositions for small chamber groups, solo piano, and modular synthesis using a variety of influences spanning the classical, jazz, and experimental music worlds. In addition, he enjoys collaborating with visual artists who often produce live visuals in his shows. His concerts provide a space for audiences to be fully immersed in a variety of sounds and visuals, creating an unforgettable experience.

Along with his original compositions with accompanying visuals, the concert will include a composition for clarinet and piano. I Expected them to Have Wings will feature clarinet virtuosos, D’art Richards.

In addition to composing and performing concert music, Harrington performs as a jazz pianist on a weekly basis throughout the New River Valley and is the pianist and organist at the Presbyterian Church of Radford. He is a recent graduate of Radford University with a Masters of Music.

The concert will be held at the Fine Arts Center on May 16 from 6-7 p.m. The concert is free but a $5 donation is appreciated. There is free street parking, a lot behind the Pulaski Theatre across the street from the Center and another free lot a block down Main Street at Central Gym.
