Join us for some scary good times! Well, they're not all scary.

We’ve still got FREE tickets for our next First Friday Listening Room with musical duet, Ragtime Fred, or visit the Center to view our newest exhibit, Function Over Form? featuring fine arts crafts. Plus we’ve launched our Fall Membership Drive and the Community Foundation for the NRV has honored us with partial funding for their Responsive Grant.

Bed Bennett and Beth Kelsey are Ragtime Fred.

Get your FREE tickets for Ragtime Fred!

Ragtime Fred is a duo from Blacksburg, Virginia that play ragtime and classic jazz songs from about 1880 through 1945. They use everybody’s favorite combination of vocals, 5 string and tenor banjos (Bud Bennett), and acoustic bass (Beth Kelsey), and put a slightly different spin on these old familiar tunes.

Max on Main will open at 5:00 p.m. with an abbreviated menu of paninis, waffles, and specialty coffees and teas. They'll turn off the espresso machine and start the concert at 6:00 p.m.

Because seating is limited, please reserve your FREE tickets on EventBrite.

Artists may take their inspiration from many places, including from familiar objects we look at and use almost daily. “Fine arts crafts” are those that are inspired by everyday functional objects but are intended as artistic expression. Our current exhibit, Function over Form?, features such work. Is it art that is inspired by function? Or is it something functional elevated to a state of fine art? On display October 20 through December 10.

Featured artists include Carrie Hodge, Pulaski; Becca Imbur, Christiansburg; Sidra Kaluszka, Radford; Frank Leonetti, Dubglin; Carol Monti, Blacksburg; Nikki Pynn, Radford.
