2025 Southwest Virginia Scholastic Art Winners Announced!

Please enjoy this online exhibit of the winners from the 2025 Scholastic Art Awards for Southwest Virginia. The region encompasses 23 counties and the independent towns and cities in Southwest Virginia. This year, almost 500 entries were submitted across the categories. High School Gold Key winners will automatically be forward to the national competition.

If you are an award-winning teen artist, please be sure to join us on Saturday, February 22, 2025, for a Reception and Awards Ceremony in your honor. Educators and families are also encouraged to attend. The Reception will start at noon in the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley and the Awards Ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. Following the Awards, Educators may pick up their students’ art.

2025 American Visions Nominees and Scholarship Winners

Each year, the judge’s select the top five high school entries across all categories as the American Visions nominees from Southwest Virginia. These five works compete at the national level for an American Visions Awards. In addition the judges selected two pieces for the Outstanding Middle School Entry. Beginning in 2023, the artists of all of these top works receive a $250 scholarship from the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley.
