Please review for schedule and program changes from the Fine Arts Center

Our annual Gala is being postponed until early 2023 and some of our classes will not be held in the Center due to construction on Main Street. Please read our full post for details.

Annual Gala Postponed

The Board of Directors voted this week to postpone our Annual Gala originally scheduled for December 5. The caterer we have been working with has had some supply-chain issues. We did reach out to multiple other caterers but could not find one available at this short notice. It was a difficult decision, but we’re working to find a suitable alternative in early 2023. We will be in touch with more information as it becomes available. Thank you for your patience.

The Impact of Construction Cowntown on Center Events

Many of you will be aware that downtown Main Street will be undergoing infrastructure upgrades. The street will be torn up so new water lines can be installed. This is a much needed improvement, but it will make traversing along Main Street much more difficult, especially when the weather is not pleasant. The repairs are expected to start the last week of November and last three-to-four months. We had a lot of programs scheduled for that time, so please review the following updates.

Childrens’ Art Workshops Moving to 3rd Street Gym

If your family is one that enjoys our monthly Childrens’ Art Workshops, please note that they will be held in one of the large classrooms at the 3rd Street Gym in the Pulaski County Administration complex. There is ample parking, easily accessible restrooms, and children and their parents will be able to enter and exit the facility safely without worrying about the hazard of construction (see the entrance in the picture below). Parents and guardians: Please be sure to enter with your child and sign them in and out of all classes. Parents of younger children are encouraged to attend with their child.

The following classes will likely be impacted:

  • December 10 - Ornaments

  • January 14 - Snowflakes (wax-resist oil, pastel, and watercolor)

  • February 11 - Origami Cards

  • March 11 - Mosaics

Adult Classes and No Place Like Home Exhibit and Reception

The board voted to continue to host adult classes and our next exhibit at the Fine Arts Center. Free parking will be available behind the Pulaski Theatre. If you park there and plan to visit the Center, please cross Main Street at Washington Avenue. All sidewalks are supposed to be clear and usable. The reception for our exhibit No Place Like Home will still occur on Thursday, December 15. The following classes are scheduled within the construction window but are planned to occur at the Center. We’ll see how well it goes and inform you if they change.
