No Pace Like Home Call Deadline: Nov. 12
This Saturday is the deadline for our next Community Art Show, No Place Like Home. The show is open to artists who are 18 years or older to share connotations of home and place through their original, hand-crafted art. There is not time limit as to when art must have been created. Oil, watercolor, fiber arts, photography, mixed media, sculpture, digital and other forms of art are all welcome.
Entries can be submitted online or by stopping by the Center during business hours. There is a $5 entry fee per item; however, members enter for free. There will be a $100 People’s Choice Award selected by those who attend the exhibit. Please contact Becky Lattuca at 540-980-7363 or Director@FACNRV.org if you have any questions.
FREE Children’s Workshop: Torn-Paper Collage
Parents and guardians can sign their children up for our next FREE Children’s Art Workshop: Torn-Paper Collages facilitated by Kim LaClair. Kim will guide children through creating a fall scene using collage techniques, which can be replicated at home by repurposing newsprint, junk mail, magazines, and small craft supplies that most people have around the house.
The workshop is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to noon. All materials will be provided. This workshop is free, but space is limited, so please register your child online or by contacting the Center at 540-980-7363 or info@FACNRV.org.
Adult Workshop: Introduction to Visionary Art
Artist Chris Bolduc was the winner of the People’s Choice Award at our recent exhibit, Menagerie ‘22. Chris’s unique style was a hit with people who attended the show, and in this workshop Chris will share some of the techniques and ideas of Visionary Art so you can apply it to your own creations on Saturday, Nov. 19.
Chris will provide an overview of the history and techniques of visionary art so that you can apply them to generate new ideas and promote creativity. You will transfer your ideas from a sketch to paper or canvas to work towards finished artwork. Please register online or by contacting Becky Lattuca at 540-980-7363 or Director@FACNRV.org.
