Upcoming FREE Events for Children and Adults from the Center
This Friday, the Groove Houndz kick off the 2022-23 First Friday Listening Room at Max on Main and student artists are invited to a free workshop on alcohol ink painting on September 10.
Local favorites, The Groove Houndz, are back in the First Friday Listening Room this Friday, September 2, and Max on Main. The band plays a range to toe-tapping music, some of which you may know and some that may be new to you. They promise at least a few new tunes they’ve picked up from their travels to music festivals across the region.
Max on Main opens at 5 p.m. with an abbreviated menu and drinks. The concert is from 6-8 p.m. The concert is FREE, but please reserve your seats on EventBrite as seating is limited.
Based on popular demand by parents, the Fine Arts Center will be hosting a FREE Children’s Art Workshop in person on Saturday, September 10. Children between the ages of 6 and 14 are invited to join us at the Center and explore the beautiful and mesmerizing effects of alcohol ink painting. All necessary supplies will be provided. We have a limited capacity of 10 students, so please register for this FREE workshop through our online shop. Parents of younger artists may want to attend. Part of the fun of using alcohol ink is to experiment, and sometimes those experiments can get a little messy. Please dress accordingly.
And whether you’re attending the concert or enjoying the children’s art workshop, you can always stop by the Edna B. Love Gallery to enjoy our latest exhibit—Menagerie! The exhibit features the work of more than 20 local artists using a variety of techniques. Come enjoy the show and be inspired by the talent of artists from our region. As always, our exhibits are FREE and open to the public.
