Georgia Randall to Rock the December First Friday Listening Room
Popular local artist, Georgia Randall, will return to the First Friday Listening Room on December 1 for a raucous good time!
Georgia Randall was born in Norfolk, Virginia. She began singing gospel in the church at a young age. Her early influences were in soul and blues, listening to the likes of Etta James, Big Mama Thornton, Bessie Smith, and Billie Holiday. By the age of 15, Georgia had begun her professional career as a front singer and embraced the music of Motown, Rock & Roll, and the San Francisco sound, along with her continued love of the blues. By age 17, Georgia left her Virginia home and hit the road fronting several rock & roll and show bands. Many years later Georgia took a few guitar lessons so she could begin a solo career.
At the suggestion of a friend, she began to write her own music. With four albums released, Georgia has returned to Virginia and continues to write and perform her music. Georgia’s voice has been compared to Tina Turner, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, and Melissa Etheridge, but make no mistake—her style is all her own. There is no comparison to the fantastically enjoyable time you’ll have at a Georgia Randall show.
The First Friday Listening Room is held at the Fine Arts Center, at 21 West Main Street in the Historic Downtown District in Pulaski. Doors open at 5 p.m. with light refreshments and a cash bar. Music is from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is free but a $5 donation is suggested.
Seating is limited, but you can reserve a set on EventBrite.
