Hone Your Drawing Skills with Artist and Teacher Mary Ruff
Mary’s Intermediate and Advanced class will take your drawing skills to the next level. The class begins on Saturday, June 8, and runs for six weeks.
Mary Ruff’s Introduction to Drawing class was a popular one last year. She’s planning a follow-up this summer to help you take your drawing skills to the next level. As an experienced artist and teacher, Mary provides a systematic approach to learning more advanced drawing skills along with individual attention on your own drawing projects.
This six-week class runs from 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays from June 8 to July 13, 2024. Topics in the drawing curriculum will include:
Composition Definitions
The 7 Elements of Design
General Rules of Composition
The Principles of Design
Atmospheric Perspective
Creating Depth in Your Drawings
Background Considerations
How to Create a Still Life
The first 30-60 minutes of each class will focus on teaching a facet of composition, followed by a class exercise to reinforce the material covered. The remainder of the class will allow the students to work on their current fine-art drawings and will include a critique of their work.
This class is for adults 18 years and over who have some art experience and who want to enhance their drawing skills. Responsible, highly motivated teens may be allowed with advance permission from FACNRV and the instructor. There is a minimum of 6 students required for the class.
