You have choices! You can take an art class on Saturday, enjoy a mindfulness moment on Wednesday, purchase your raffle tickets for our beautiful quilt, and join us for a full day of music, food, and family fun at Rhythm by the Rails! It’s going to be a busy two weeks!

 

Experience “Quiet” with InStill Mindfulness

Our current exhibit features beautiful art quilts by the talented members of the Textile Artists of Virginia (TAVA). It will close on Saturday, but you can have a unique experience in the exhibit, called “Quiet,” by attending our second Mindfulness Moment on Wednesday July 31 from 4:30-5:00 p.m. Our collaborators from InStill Mindfulness will once again guide you through a mindfulness activity that will help you connect with the beautiful quilts and give you an opportunity to reflect and center yourself. Mandala Art Class with Ernie Ross

Enjoy the peaceful and meditative experience of creating Mandala Art with award-winning painter and teacher, Ernie Ross. All materials will be provided so you can create your own artistic creation. Mandala Art uses geometric patters based on circles, and no two creations have to be the same. You can register online for our class on Saturday, August 3 from 10 a.m. to noon. This class will be repeated on Thursday, September 12 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and Saturday, October 5 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Quilt Raffle: August 10

The talented artists of the Draper Quilt & Art Collective have crafted and donated a beautiful king-size quilt in an updated log cabin pattern to be raffled off in benefit of the Fine Arts Center. You can purchase tickets online in our shop or at Rhythm by the Rails in Jackson Park on Saturday, August 10, where the raffle winner be announced prior to the Jared Stout Band around 6:30 p.m.

Rhythm by the Rails: Saturday, August 10

Join us on Saturday, August 10 from 3-9 p.m. for a family-friendly, fun-filled day with music, food, and art we’re calling Rhythm by the Rails. Ian Gilliam & the FireKings will kick off the music at 3 followed by the GRAPe JAM Band. The Jared Stout Band will close out the evening. There will be a variety of food vendors and local artisans. Kids can enjoy free crafts in the gazebo. Bring a blanket or some chairs and spend the day!
