Announcing Events, Classes, and More at the Fine Arts Center
Our Scholastic Exhibition is Now Open and Award Winners Have Been Announced
We are proud to open our annual Scholastic exhibit which will remain on display until February 22.
The Fine Arts Center has been the Southwest Virginia Affiliate for the Scholastic Art Awards for more than 20 years, serving a region that includes students in 23 counties and the independent cities and towns within them.
This year, almost 500 entries were submitted across all categories. High School Gold Key winners will automatically move forward to the national competition.
If you are an award-winning teen artist, please be sure to join us on Saturday, February 22, 2025, for a Reception and Awards Ceremony in your honor. Educators and families are also encouraged to attend. The Reception will start at noon in the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley and the Awards Ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. Following the Awards, Educators may pick up their students’ art.

February 7: First Friday Concert with Barry LeNoir and Drew Willson
Barry LeNoir (barrylenoir.com) and Drew Willson (drewwillsonmusic.com) have performed together for 27 years at noisy bars, country churches, smoky campfires, and late night "soul kitchens." By day, Drew (guitar, mandolin, tin whistle) is an ordained minister in Richmond, and Barry (guitar, harmonica, bad "dad jokes") is a family engagement programmer for Virginia Tech. Reverent and raucous, sacred and saucy, their concerts include a fun and eclectic mix of originals, deep-cut covers, and songs and stories as fit for a pub as they are for the pulpit. Join Barry and Drew on February 7 to sing and strum away your mid-winter blues
The Listening Room is held at 21 West Main Street in Pulaski and opens at 5 p.m. with light refreshments and a cash bar serving beer and wine. Music is from 6-8 p.m. Event entry is free; a $5 donation is suggested. There is free parking on the streets in downtown as well as several free lots, including one behind the Pulaski Theatre across the street from the Fine Arts Center.
