About Robert Lee "RL" Thomas
RL comes from a long line of artists and craftsmen; his grandfather and great grandfather were decorative plasters. His father was a WWII pilot and draftsman. RL studied art and design at Richmond Professional Institute ( Now Va Commonwealth University ), Attended Va Tech, New River Community College, and Recent Graduate Classes at Radford University with ZL Feng. Several workshops including the Studio School in Roanoke Virginia and Workshop with Don Andrews. He worked as graphic designer and illustrator, and founded and ran advertising agency with clients from New York to Florida. Upon retirement, he began working in watercolor and other media in late 2010. RL lives in a beautiful and inspirational area of Virginia and the Country.
