Composer and pianist Joey Harrington will perform some of his original compositions at the Fine Arts Center in a free concert on May 16 from 6-7 p.m.
Joey Morgan Harrington’s original concert music consists of compositions for small chamber groups, solo piano, and modular synthesis using a variety of influences spanning the classical, jazz, and experimental music worlds. In addition, he enjoys collaborating with visual artists who often produce live visuals in his shows. His concerts provide a space for audiences to be fully immersed in a variety of sounds and visuals, creating an unforgettable experience.
“My goal is to be transparent – transparent with regards to how I feel, how I’m connected to those around me, and how I’m connected to the broader world – when composing, improvising, performing, and collaborating.”
Joey Morgan Harrington
In addition to composing and performing concert music, Harrington performs as a jazz pianist on a weekly basis throughout the New River Valley and is the pianist and organist at the Presbyterian Church of Radford.
There is no admission fee for this concert, but seats are limited. There is free street parking as well as in a lot behind the Pulaski Theatre across the street from the Center.
