A little bit about the facilitator: Terrie Sternberg is a long-time resident of Pulaski, VA, and loves being part of her community. Always looking for new art experiences, she is currently a member of the Board of Directors and is happy to help with the Education Committee’s efforts to bring arts education into more and more peoples’ lives in our region.
Perhaps you’ve seen this form of art known as “zendoodles” or the Zentangle® Art Method created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas in the U.S. This couple was looking for a way to invite the “non-artist” to combine art with a form of meditation or quieting the mind, and this is the result! It can also be seen as a form of art which mirrors the geometric and fractal nature of the patterns found throughout creation.
Workshop facilitator, Terrie Sternberg shares, “I was introduced to the Zentangle Method while attending a creative retreat in 2011, and I’ve been hooked on this form of art ever since. What I love about this art form is that when I’m done ‘doodling,’ I feel like I’ve really made some art – an accomplishment for someone who doesn’t see herself as an artist!”
