Second Saturday Workshop: Animating on the iPad (October 9 @ 2:00 p.m.)

Taylor Carroll will show you how easy it is to learn animation using an iPad and the Procreate app. You will learn how to create a GIF of your pet (or your favorite animal)! You will learn the basics of animation in Procreate, best practices for animating a GIF, how to simplify and draw your pet, and how to export and upload your animation to Giphy.com or share with your friends. Taylor is a local artist, freelance illustrator. and motion designer. This class is suitable for artists 13 years and older and will occur in-person at the Fine Arts Center.

Procreate is a simple and accessible tool to get started with to learn how to animate. It’s straightforward to use and comes packed with lots of fun tools to experiment with. This class is for anyone who wants to dip their toes in the basics of frame-by-frame animation. Classes usually last approximately two hours.

Required Materials

You will need an Apple iPad or iPad Pro made after 2015, an Apple Pencil/stylus, the Procreate App, and lots of pictures of your pet. The Procreate app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store for $9.99.
