Second Saturday Workshop: Creative Mindfulness and Journal Making (January 29, 2022 @ 2:00 p.m.)

This workshop uses mindfulness to inspire unconscious creativity, quiet the restless mind, and help us step out of our confines of preconceived thoughts and constraints. The first part of this session focuses on visualization and relaxation exercises. The second part is the creation of our own hand-bound journals or sketch books, using a basic sewn-binding technique. L.S. King will then take us through a guide visualization journey to help us unlock our creativity. After this, we will use our newly created journals to process and record our insights, whether through words, pictures, or a hybrid of the two. At the end of the session, we will have an opportunity to reflect together on our individual experiences.

For all levels of adults interested in using meditation and journaling to increase creativity. A separate session for middle school to high school might be possible.
