FAC Launches Gala Auction on "Black Friday." Join us!
Despite the challenges of the year, the Fine Arts Center has used a variety of new strategies to continue its mission of supporting the arts in the New River Valley. While this is a time we would usually gather together with members and supporters, we hope you might join us in a safe and healthy way of raising funds to promote arts for children and adults in the region.
One of our favorite events of the year is our annual Gala, in which we have the opportunity to gather with members and supporters for fine food, conversation, and some entertainment. While that’s not possible this year, the Board of the Fine Arts Center is continuing to explore new ways to reach our compatriots and support our programs that bring arts education opportunities for children and adults in the area.
While we can’t meet in person, we hope you might join us for our first-ever online auction with more than 140 unique items, held in conjunction with auction experts Valley Auctions, LLC. It may not be as fun as breaking bread and cutting the rug, but we hope this unique event will be an opportunity for us to continue our free arts events for children and low-cost workshops for adults.
Through our new collaboration with the YMCA of Pulaski County and schools in the region, we now provide more than 200 FREE grab-and-go art kits for children in our area as part of our Second Saturday Art Cafe. Once safe, we hope to continue these opportunities in person both at the YMCA and elsewhere.
Please check out more about the auction on our website and at Valley Auctions, LLC. Pre-bidding begins on “Black Friday,” and you must register on the Valley Auction website or via their app on or after that day. The final auction is Saturday, December 12, beginning at 6 p.m. The auction includes more than 140 lots of unique items from fine arts, jewelry, china, and a variety of unique gift baskets.
