Celebrate the Arts with us at our Gala and a new Woodworking Exhibit in our Gallery

We are pleased to announce we will once again be hosting our Holiday Gala. Save December 6 on your calendar! But in the meantime, join us in the Edna B. Love Gallery for a new show by talented local woodworkers.

Gala 2021 Tickets on Sale

Please join us on December 6 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at Al’s on First to celebrate the arts and to honor our greatest asset—you! Our Annual Holiday Gala has been our way to acknowledge and thank our members, donors, volunteers, and others who have helped keep the Fine Arts Center open so we can continue to support the arts and artists of the New River Valley.

Al’s has given us the entire first floor and we will limit the number of tickets to give everyone appropriate distance to socialize. You can do that with heavy hors d'oeuvres, great music, and a silent auction. Each ticket includes one drink ticket and there will be a cash bar. Plus the fire pit will be open!

Reserve your tickets here.

Our Newest Exhibit Features Local Wood Artists

Following our mission to support the arts and artists of the New River Valley, our next exhibit features the work of nine talented local artisans who each share their unique talents for working with wood, and wood-related art. The art ranges in type, including usable art in the form of pens, cutting boards, pepper mills, and other utensils along with hand-painted furniture, decorative and expressive art and more than a few surprises. Fishing anyone?

Come meet the artists in an open house on Thursday, November 18 from 5-7 p.m. Artists in the show include:

  • Terry Blair

  • Clay and Thomas Howlett

  • Harold Lambert

  • David Pearce

  • Ken Pease

  • Ernie Ross

  • Alex Snodgrass

  • Henry and Rhonda Whitehurst

Samples of the work from our fantastic wood artists soon to be on display
