Get your Gala tickets this week and find unique gifts at Shop Small Saturday!
We’ve got a great event and some unique gift options for you. Get your Gala tickets this week and visit us on Shop Small Saturday to find one-of-a-kind gifts made by local artists.
Gala Tickets are Available Online and at the Center
We’re excited to once again offer an opportunity to celebrate you—our members, donors, and supporters. We missed seeing you at our annual Gala last year, but we’re glad to have secured the entire first floor at Al’s on First on Monday, December 6 from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m., and we’re limiting tickets so we can have a safe and appropriately distanced event.
Please RSVP this week.
Acknowledging the times we live in, please help Al’s on First by buying your tickets this week. We need to get numbers to Al’s staff so we can be sure to have enough tasty food and make sure staff are available. We live in a time of supply chain issues and Al’s just wants to be sure you have a great time. And speaking of great food, your ticket includes one drink ticket (beer or wine) and heavy hors d'oeuvres, including:
Holiday Meatballs
Asparagus wrapped in filo dough
Sliced meats. cheeses, crackers & crisps, olives and pickles
Veggie shooters
Ham carving station w/ mustards, mayos, horseradish and rolls
Spinach & artichoke dip w/ flatbread and chips
Mini cheesecakes, mousse cups, dessert bars and brownies
All of that plus a silent auction and harpist Renee Rippe in the lounge with pop and holiday music and a jazz/pop trio in the main dining room. Join us for this special event.
Shop Small Saturday at the Fine Arts Center for Great Local Art
Our newest exhibit, From the Silence of Wood, features the work of more than 10 local artists who craft in wood or have wood-related artwork. There’s a variety of wood-based and wood-related work with something for everyone, and much of it is priced to sell!
Whether you’re looking for beautiful and practical handmade wood items like bowls, utensils, and pens, or have an eye for a unique wall hanging or art installation, we have it in stock for you. Some of the pieces are steeped in history, such as the series of work from one of the oldest trees in the state, to pieces that represent the fun and whimsy that bring a taste of New Orleans to the New River Valley. You can join us on Shop Small Saturday on the 27th or any time through December 16 to have your name entered in a drawing for $1,000 from the Chamber of Commerce (on December 18).
