Alexandra Leonetti wins People's Choice Award for the NRV Biennial

Viewers of the New River Art Juried Biennial Exhibition 2021 honor Alexandra Leonetti with the People’s Choice Award.

The New River Art Juried Biennial opened on October 23 and recently closed on December 3. The Biennial was coordinated this year by the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley with co-sponsors the Floyd Center for the Arts and the Blacksburg Regional Art Association. It was held at the Tyler Gallery at Radford University thanks to the support from RU faculty Steve Arbury, Kim Cochran, Ken Smith, and Brent Webb.

Throughout the exhibition, visitors were invited to vote for their favorite entry in order to be acknowledged as the People’s Choice award. This year’s winner was Alexandra Leonetti for her painting, “The Globalist.” Leonetti is from Dublin, Virginia, and is and MFA candidate at Radford University. The honor includes a $100 prize provided by The Artful Lawyer in Blacksburg, Virginia.
