The FACNRV is participating in the Give Local NRV day of giving sponsored by the Community Foundation of the New River Valley on Wednesday June 22, 2022, and we’d appreciate your support.
Over the past 2+ years we, like most organizations, have been faced with unprecedented challenges in trying to fulfill our mission of supporting artists and promoting the arts in the New River Valley. We have persevered, though, and we are now coming out of the other side of the pandemic stronger than ever with new insights into how we can better serve our community. We have embraced technology to offer a wide range of virtual experiences, we developed art kits to-go, and we used this time to renovate our gallery space. We also met our 2021 goal of hiring an Executive Director to help us move forward after several years of working as an entirely volunteer-managed organization.
We are so excited to move toward our 45th year of programming with a mix of in-person, virtual and to-go artistic opportunities for the entire community. Currently on display in the Edna B. Love Gallery is Peak Creek: Two Views by Pulaski artists Ken Smith ad L.S. King that has been paired with art and other information from the Friends of Peak Creek including a chance for artists of all ages to create their own art inspired by Peak Creek. Next up will be Menagerie, an annual exhibit of recent works from community members. We are now accepting course proposals and offering those courses, applications for inclusion in our gift shop, and artisan applications for Rhythm and Ribs/Art in the Park, a full day of family-friendly music, food, arts and community on Saturday, August 13 at Jackson Park in Historic Downtown Pulaski.
During these still uncertain times, your donations are vital for continuation of, and building upon, these quality programs, most of which we offer for free thanks to our generous donors and members. We thank you for your continued support. We couldn't do it without you!
