"Quiet," a new exhibit from the Textile Artists of Virginia opens at the Fine Arts Center.
Join us at the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley from Friday, June 14 to Saturday, August 3, for the serene and captivating art exhibition “Quiet,” presented by the Textile Artists of Virginia (TAVA)! Don't miss the opportunity to experience the beauty of quilting fiber art and connect with some of the artists during our opening reception on Thursday, June 20, from 5 to 7 p.m.
In our fast-paced world filled with noise and endless to-do lists, finding stillness can be a challenge. TAVA members have embraced this theme, exploring the hidden quietness in our lives through their stunning fiber art.
TAVA supports and encourages each member as a fiber artist through sharing ideas and techniques, as well as exploring the boundaries of the medium with programs and hands-on activities. TAVA increases public awareness of fiber art through exhibits and public engagement.
TAVA meets monthly in Southwest Virginia to promote the creation of fiber art. Meetings are currently held both in-person and virtually. Regular hands-on activities let the members learn new techniques, challenges push each artist’s imagination and exhibitions educate the public about fiber art as a medium. Previous collections were exhibited at the Virginia Quilt Museum, Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival and the Taiwan International Quilt Exhibition.
