Meet our New Team Members: Savannah and Brandon!
Savannah Penven will be stepping in as our new Program Manager & Curator, and Brandon Phillips will be serving as our new Development Coordinator. Both start in June.
After a search the drew interested candidates from across the Southeast, the Fine Arts Center is proud to announce that two dynamic people will be joining our team in June. Both bring a range of experience and expertise in the arts and arts management, and we feel so lucky to have them sharing it with us and our local arts community. Please join us in welcoming Savannah and Brandon!
Brandon Phillips is a Floyd County native, where he spent years serving the arts through fundraising, marketing, and programming support at the Floyd Center for the Arts. He is passionate about progressively expanding the availability and accessibility of the arts within our community.
"I feel a deep connection to the New River Valley, where I have lived, worked, and studied throughout my life. Organizations for the arts such as ours are essential to our community, and it will be my mission to see that the Center here in Pulaski has the resources it needs to continue to succeed and grow throughout the future. Artistic expression transcends boundaries and brings diverse voices together. I could not be more excited to join you all in maintaining vibrant resources and opportunities for creativity in Pulaski and beyond."
Savannah Penven is a long-time resident of the NRV and is passionate about supporting and uplifting the local arts. She holds an M.A. in Material Culture & Public Humanities from Virginia Tech and a B.A. in Art History & Museum Studies from Radford University.
"I believe art is an integral aspect of community building and interpersonal connections. The Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley is a crucial facilitator in the region’s engagement and enjoyment of the arts. I am so excited to be a part of the organization bringing art to those in the NRV!"
